It Can All Happen
Phew! There is so much going on that most of us do not know how to make it all happen. When you feel overwhelmed do you charge ahead or give up the fight? I’ve done both in my life. I feel much better when I charge ahead, but avoidance and procrastination feels pretty comfortable in the moment.
So, the rules keep on changing this year. Colleges are open. Colleges are partially open. Colleges are closed. You must “experience” your freshman year online. You must be put in a “pod” and are only allowed access to certain people on campus. This confusion, instability, and downright unfair experience is tainting your first year of college. This could get you down or you can use this as an opportunity.
An opportunity for what, you ask? An opportunity to “put one toe in the water” and slowly experience college? Maybe this is what you needed to be able to concentrate on your class work and get ahead? Maybe this gives you a better opportunity to get to know your roommate suitemates?
This is not the perfect scenario, but it’s time to resist the urge to shut down. It’s time to push forward and not allow the world to drag you down. You are the architect of your life. Change is on the horizon. Make the most of this moment and narrate your life.
